The short answer

A budget Android head unit’s spec sheet reads like a phone’s, because underneath it basically is one: a mobile chipset, RAM, storage, and an Android version number, wrapped in a car-stereo shell. Some of those numbers genuinely predict how the unit will feel to use. Others are printed because they sound impressive, not because they’ll change your experience. It’s a real difference from a cheap standard LCD panel — brightness and color do vary noticeably between budget units — but it’s also a marketing term borrowed from a different product category, and the screen’s actual behavior in daylight (glare, viewing angle, whether the touch layer stays responsive after months of heat cycling) is not fully captured by a panel-tech label.
